These 4 photos show each 'side' of the drum. It is a wooden frame which looks like it may have been made from a solid tree log and the pegs look to be handmade from wood as well. A quite thick leather hide is used as the drumming face.

On Saturday the 9th May I had a further wonderful experience of being part of the LiveTown Club live performance evening at Littlehampton. I was again asked to do the 'opening act'. I have had a great week, and the highlight was playing my flutes and drum at a local nursing home. As it was a small group of residents, I was able to see their faces as I played and connect with them directly. I've been trying out a fairly new webcam on my laptop so that I can put a video of the playing of a NAF, and it just wouldn't work! Don't know what the problem is, and I tried it in 3 different USB plugs!Did a virus scan and it came up with a Trojan - of Generic title. Hopefully I fixed the problem and I'll have a video on this site shortly. Does anyone have any hints to making a decent clip?

Well, I bit the bullet and went to my first Market Day. It was Father's Day so the market was small, but I really enjoyed playing my flutes in the coffee shop and being able to share the music in a public arena. Definitely will try that again.

I have just uploaded a few sound files to the music player. The way I recorded these was through Audacity, which is very easy to use. I then exported the file as an MP3 (needed a little add-in) and did the upload. I hope you enjoy them. Well, I have now purchased a webcam for the laptop. I'm hoping to be able to record a few more songs on the flutes, to give you an earful of different sounds that the flutes can make.
